How do I maintain my court?
A basic broom, leaf blower, or hose can be used to keep the top surface free of debris. Because water drains quickly through the open-grid design, your court is ready for play soon after cleaning or inclement weather. We recommend an annual court tune-up service and offer maintenance plans for all of our customers. Contact us for more information.
Why do I need a site visit?
Because your property is the biggest variable. At Sport Court Midwest every court we build is custom designed and installed for you. There are many variables that we must identify when building your court: some projects require excavation or backfill, some communities require special permits, and some places need a retaining wall to secure the court. Our initial site visit will show us what unique features your backyard may have and help us identify exactly what’s important to you and your family, so we can build the court that fits your needs.
How long does it take to install a court?
Depending on the size and scope of your court, Sport Court Midwest can have you ‘ready to play’ in a matter of days. Of course, site preparation, concrete placement, and busy schedules—both for us and your family—can require a little more time and planning. On average, count on about 6-8 weeks from the first time you get your permits approved until you’re shooting hoops or playing tennis with your kids.
What does it cost to build a court?
We’ve built small ‘shooting courts’ for as little as $10,000 (with an existing base) and multi-sport backyard complexes that reached over six figures. The point is that we can build what you want. SportProsUSA will guide your design to include the features you want most within your budget, so you’ll get the court that is right for your family.
Do I need a permit to build a backyard court?
Probably. Some communities require you to get residential building permits before work on your backyard game court can begin. SportProsUSA can manage the time-consuming and often stressful process of obtaining these permits for your project. We can gather all the required information for your Sport Court building permit, process the application and deliver the permit directly to you. Let us do the work for you! Why is Sport Court surface important? Can't I just play on blacktop?
You can, but… many of us who grew up playing on a backyard concrete or asphalt slabs have the scars to prove it! The bottom line here is the safety of your children, and there is no outdoor sports surface that delivers a better combination of shock absorption (protection from injury), ball response, traction, and playability than Sport Court’s outdoor modular flooring. There are other choices available, but why would you trust the safety of your children to an inferior surface?
- Proven – Custom engineered design that outplays any modular surface in the game from a company with over 45 years of experience building game courts.
- Weather Resistant – Specialty grid design reducing water retention on top of the surface and superior UV resistant formula.
- Performance – A lightly textured surface providing the best balance between dry traction and low skin abrasion. Plus, the reliable triple-action locking system keeps the surface secure during assertive play.
- Ball Response – PowerGame+™ delivers the same dribbling response as a hardwood floor unmatched by the industry.
- Safest – Superior, double-length shock absorption understructure, Lateral Forgiveness™ technology that lessens impact and risk of injuries compared to any other traditional outdoor surface.
How long does the court surface last?
20-25 years if they are maintained properly with an annual tune-up service. Sport Court game courts are constructed of the highest-quality and most durable materials. Your Sport Court surfacing is covered by a 15-year limited warranty, and we expect it to deliver at least that many years of playability and fun for your family. We have courts that are 30 years old and still playable!
How much room do I need to fit a court in my backyard?
Sport Court Midwest builds Sport Court game courts that are custom designed to fit not only the available space in your yard, but your family’s lifestyle, interests, and budget. That said, the #1 complaint we have received over the years has been “I wish I would have made my court bigger!”
